At least 28 killed in Pakistan mosque blast — RT World News

A terrorist assault on a mosque in Peshawar, Pakistan has claimed at least 28 lives, with 150 additional injured, neighborhood officials informed the media. The blast took place on Monday in a greatly guarded place with a significant law enforcement presence.

Witnesses and officials say the explosion was so strong that the roof of the mosque collapsed.

The authorities have declared a “healthcare emergency” in the town and identified as on locals to donate blood for the hurt.

Security officials instructed Geo Information that the suicide bomber was in the front row of worshippers for the duration of prayers when he established off the explosive.

Talking to reporters, Funds Metropolis Police Officer Muhammad Ijaz Khan acknowledged that a “protection lapse occurred.”

Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated law enforcement officers had been the primary goal of the terrorist assault.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the explosion, stating, “these terrorists are making an attempt to instill fear by targeting individuals who complete the responsibility of defending Pakistan.”
