Brexit LIVE: Bookmakers slash odds on UK fully rejoining EU by 2026 after major ‘catalyst’

An academic has claimed most Britons who voted ‘Leave’ in 2016 now believe Brexit was a mistake.

Chris Grey, Emeritus Professor of Organisation Studies at Royal Holloway, pointed to evidence of a “clear majority” of Brexit voters (57 percent) feeling the UK’s withdrawal from the EU “has made the cost of living higher”.

Writing in his “Brexit and Beyond” blog, he added: “This has been happening during a time when, in England at least, few national politicians have been openly criticising Brexit and when media coverage of it has been quite muted.”

Professor Grey suggested that were there more of a media spotlight on Brexit, far more ‘Leave’ voters regret their stance during the referendum than do now.
