Delayed debut

TOP Rookie Draft pick Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser will miss Blackwater’s first two games in the Philippine Basketball Association Philippine Cup due on June 5 because of a mild fracture in his right middle finger.

The Bossing head coach Ariel Vanguardia told BusinessMirror on Friday that Ganuelas-Rosser, who signed a rookie maximum contract with the team the other day, injured his finger during the men’s 3×3 basketball games at the Vietnam 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi.

“We are banking on him to change Blackwater’s landscape, but suffered a hairline fracture in his middle finger and that’s his shooting hand,” Vanguardia said. “He will be out four weeks.”

Sophomore Andre Paras won’t be in a Bossing uniform after filing an indefinite leave of absence to focus on his showbiz career, Vanguardia said.

“I don’t know when he’ll be coming back but that’s his personal decision,” Vanguardia said.

Vanguardia said they already signed big man Yousef Taha and Rey Publico to one year contracts, while rookies Ato Ular of Letran and Mark Dyke were given two- and one-year contracts, respectively.
