Germany warns against ‘competition’ over Ukraine aid — RT World News

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has voiced discontent in excess of continuous debates about Western arms deliveries for Ukraine, declaring that they undermine authorities’ credibility in the eyes of normal citizens.

Irrespective of France and the US not ruling out this kind of support, the chancellor stated that for Germany “the query of battle aircraft does not arise at all.” 

“I can only advise against moving into into a frequent outbidding competition when it will come to weapon techniques,” Scholz claimed. According to him, as quickly as Berlin tends to make a final decision on a weapons shipment to Ukraine, “the upcoming debate starts in Germany.”

These varieties of general public deliberations “do not appear really serious and shake the confidence of the citizens in authorities choices,” the chancellor reported, arguing that “such debates should really not be performed for reasons of domestic political profiling.”

He also pushed again on the notion that Germany would at some point cave in to stress to provide fighter planes, as it did with tanks.
